Introducing Corporate Workshops
There is a version of public speaking training that involves watching slides about public speaking. This is not that.
For most of the last twenty years I have stood in front of rooms as a magician and mind reader, trying to hold people's attention, read the room and think on my feet. Eventually it became obvious that the skills that make a show land are the same ones that make a presentation, a pitch or a difficult meeting land. You have to know what the room needs. You have to stay clear under pressure. And you have to say the thing in a way people remember.
Corporate Workshops is where I teach those skills to teams.
Why a workshop, not a lecture
People do not change how they present by reading about it. They change by doing it somewhere it is safe to get it wrong. That is why every session is built around practice rather than theory. There is a short, useful explanation of a technique, then an exercise where the team tries it, then feedback. The team leaves with habits it can use the next day, not a folder of notes.
The two sessions
Public Speaking focuses on the practical side of standing up and being heard. It covers nerves, structure, delivery and the small decisions that make a big difference: where to stand, when to pause, how to open and how to finish. It suits anyone who presents at work, from a first internal update to a conference stage.
Creative Thinking is about generating and developing ideas as a team. Most teams are asked to be more innovative and then given no method for it. The session gives them one: how to widen the options before judging them, how to break the patterns a group falls into and how to filter ideas without killing the useful ones.
The two work well together, which is why half a day of each is a popular option.
How a session runs
Every workshop is available as a talk, a half day or a full day. A talk gives a team the ideas and the energy in a shorter slot. A half day adds practice and exercises. A full day goes deeper, with more individual practice and time to work through a real challenge.
All of it is available in person across Ireland and virtually when that suits the team better.
Who it is for
Teams who present to clients. Managers who need to land a message rather than just deliver it. Sales teams who have to think on their feet. People who are competent at the job but would rather not be the one talking. And teams that keep arriving at the same answers and need a way to get past them.
You do not need to be a confident speaker to benefit. In fact, some of the most useful sessions are with people who are quietly convinced they are not naturally good at this. I spent a good part of my childhood with a stutter and a lisp, so I understand that starting point better than most.
What I ask of you
Not much. Tell me about the team, the outcome you want and the kind of session you have in mind. If you are unsure, I will recommend a format. Every session is tailored to the group in the room, so the more context you give me, the better it will fit.
How to start
You can send an enquiry through the booking page. I read every one and reply with a proposal, usually within two business days. If you would rather talk it through first, the contact details are in the footer.
I am looking forward to working with your team.
